2 Chronicles 20:12
“O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”
— 2 Chronicles 20:12
We live in challenging times, facing many concerns, not only for our own spiritual journey but also for the salvation and well-being of those God has placed around us. Yet, as believers, we are not called to live in fear or despair. We are called to trust in Jesus Christ, who has promised, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
In these uncertain days, when challenges seem overwhelming, when opposition surrounds us, and when we do not know what to do, we must follow the example of King Jehoshaphat and keep our eyes fixed on the Lord. As Hebrews 12:2 reminds us, we must be “looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.” He alone gives us the strength to endure, the wisdom to make right decisions, and the grace to overcome every trial.
When our eyes remain on the Lord, He enables us to accomplish what seems impossible. Peter experienced this truth when he stepped out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. As long as his eyes remained on Christ, he walked above the waves. But when he shifted his focus to the storm around him, fear took over, and he began to sink (Matthew 14:28–30).
The storms of life may be real, but they are never greater than the power of our Savior. If our eyes remain fixed on Jesus, He will sustain us, strengthen us, and carry us through every challenge.
Prayer:
Lord, in moments when the journey becomes difficult and uncertain, help me keep my eyes fixed on Jesus Christ. Strengthen my faith, guide my steps, and teach me to trust You completely. May I never be distracted by the storms around me but always remember that You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen
