It is Time for Americans to Get Back to God
There is a powerful African proverb that states, “A river that forgets its source will soon dry out.” This truth is evident: when people forget their origins and beginnings, they ultimately fall into destruction. The reason the world is in turmoil today is that our forebears quickly forgot their foundation in God, leaving them vulnerable to the enemy’s deception.
Ironically, in the Garden of Eden, Satan had no human accomplice but had to use a serpent. At that time, Adam and Eve, the only two people alive, were pure creations of God, unblemished and untainted. They were unsuitable tools for Satan’s schemes. However, since then, mankind has become a willing instrument of the enemy, corrupting and damaging the world. The earth is filled with individuals who willingly align with evil, not necessarily against God, but against humanity itself. The pain and suffering we experience today are not inflicted by an external force but by human actions.
The Founding Principles of America
The founding fathers of America came to this land with the primary purpose of exercising their fundamental rights—liberty, free speech, due process, and freedom of assembly. Above all, they sought the freedom to worship their Creator. Prominent figures such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison were united in their devotion to God and their mission to build a great nation rooted in Christian principles.
George Washington, the first president of the United States, emphasized the importance of religion and morality in his farewell address:
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens… Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”
While Washington and his colleagues held Christian principles in high regard, they also believed that individuals of different faiths should be allowed to exercise their beliefs freely. This principle has been widely misinterpreted as “Separation of Church and State.” They understood that Christianity could not be mandated by legislation but envisioned a Christian community that would honor God. To this day, the phrase “In God We Trust” remains inscribed on American currency as a testament to the nation’s spiritual foundation.
The Decline of Christian Values in America
In recent decades, those who have been granted the freedom to live as they choose have not only exercised their right to disobey God’s commandments but have also sought to impose their practices on others. They have gone beyond personal choice, legalizing actions that directly contradict biblical teachings and coercing society into compliance.
One of the most significant turning points was the Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v. Wade decision on January 22, 1973, which legalized abortion. Since then, numerous vices have gained legal and social acceptance, including homosexuality, transgenderism, and other lifestyles deemed contrary to biblical principles. Before 2009, even Democratic administrations approached these issues cautiously. For instance, Bill Clinton’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy attempted to maintain a balance on homosexual lifestyles in the military. However, since 2009, these practices have been fully legitimized and incorporated into American culture, with leaders publicly denying America’s Christian identity.
The nation has witnessed the rise of anti-God movements that actively oppose Christianity in America. Groups such as LGBTQ activists, radical Islamists, and even the Satanic Temple have formed alliances against the church. This decline in religious faith has had a ripple effect, discouraging other nations from seeking God. The Bible warns against such spiritual decline:
- Psalm 9:17 – “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
- Isaiah 5:20 – “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”
The history of Israel serves as a cautionary tale. Time and again, Israel suffered because they abandoned God. After receiving the Ten Commandments, Moses warned the Israelites:
“Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.” (Deuteronomy 8:11-14)
Similarly, America has strayed far from its founding values. Statues and monuments honoring those who built this nation under God have been torn down, erasing not only history but also the memory of the great American ancestors. The education system has been compromised, with university professors indoctrinating students against God and morality. The “woke” agenda has infiltrated not only schools but also government agencies, forcing taxpayers to fund gender transitions—not just for citizens, but even for illegal immigrants.
A Glimmer of Hope: A Call to Action
Despite these challenges, God has raised individuals who recognize America’s moral decline and are fighting for its restoration. Figures such as Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr., Tucker Carlson, and Megyn Kelly, along with conservative media like Fox News and Newsmax, have sounded the alarm. Above all, God has preserved Donald Trump, who has endured harassment, persecution, and even threats to his life, yet continues to stand firm. People wonder how this happened, it’s one of the wonders of God.
Today, America stands at a pivotal moment in history. The church must rise from its slumber. Over the next four years, Christians must act as Aaron did for Moses—supporting Donald Trump in his efforts to transform America and restore its original values. This is a critical time for believers to pray, fast, and take action to bring America back to God.
It is time for America to return to its source, lest it dries out completely.
