Human life is often described in terms of purpose and mission. Though the two words are related, they are not the same. Purpose is general; mission is specific. Every human being was created with a purpose, yet many people never discover it. They drift through life without direction, carried by circumstances, trends, and social pressures, only to end their journey unfulfilled.
The ultimate purpose of humanity is clearly stated in Scripture: mankind was created to glorify God. The twenty-four elders in the book of Revelation declare:
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4:11)
Yet throughout history, this divine purpose has been challenged and distorted. The enemy’s strategy has always been to divert humanity from glorifying God toward rebellion, confusion, and moral decay.
Mission, however, is different. A mission is focused, concrete, and measurable. A person on a mission knows what must be done and how it must be done. Such individuals are not easily distracted because their eyes are fixed on a clear objective. History remembers these men and women because their lives were driven by a cause greater than themselves.
The Bible provides a powerful example in Nehemiah, a man whose heart was broken when he heard that the walls of Jerusalem lay in ruins. The city was exposed, the people were vulnerable, and the heritage of Israel was under threat. Nehemiah refused to accept the situation as inevitable. Instead, he rose with courage, faith, and leadership to rebuild what had been destroyed.
Despite fierce opposition from Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem, Nehemiah pressed forward with unwavering determination. His confidence was rooted not in political strategy but in divine conviction. He boldly declared:
“Our God will fight for us!” (Nehemiah 4:20)
Against all odds, the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt, proving that when a mission is aligned with God’s purpose, opposition cannot ultimately prevail.
In our time, many supporters believe Donald J. Trump represents a similar kind of determined leadership. They see him as a man driven by a mission, one that seeks to restore what they believe America has lost over decades of political drift and moral compromise.
For generations, the United States was widely understood to be a nation influenced by faith and shaped by the principles of its founding fathers. Yet many Americans believe that over time the nation has gradually moved away from those foundations. Cultural changes, political polarization, and ideological battles have created uncertainty about the country’s identity and direction.
Over the years, deep confusion has crept into the moral and cultural life of America, and its effects have spread far beyond its borders. In a nation once admired for intellectual clarity and scientific leadership, even basic definitions about human identity have become subjects of debate. Questions that were once settled, such as the biological definition of a woman, have become controversial in ways that many people find deeply troubling.
Even within scientific and medical circles, issues surrounding gender and human biology have become politically and culturally contested. Yet throughout human history, societies have recognized the fundamental biological realities that define human life. Even in the miracle birth of Jesus Christ, Scripture reminds us that He was born of a woman, affirming the natural order established by God.
For many observers, when societies begin to struggle with such foundational truths, it reflects a deeper moral crisis. Some believe the present cultural climate resembles the biblical warnings about societies that abandon God’s design. In their view, the world has entered a period of moral confusion reminiscent of the conditions described in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Supporters of Trump argue that his leadership attempted to bring clarity to some of these debates. Through policies and public statements, they believe his administration sought to reaffirm traditional definitions of biological reality and resist ideological trends that they felt were undermining long-standing moral principles.
At the same time, global tensions have intensified. The situation in Iran, for example, has raised concerns among many nations about regional stability and long-term geopolitical ambitions. Critics of the Iranian government argue that its ideological and strategic objectives could pose significant threats beyond its borders if left unchecked.
From this perspective, Trump’s supporters believe his policies were designed to confront emerging global threats before they become far more difficult for the international community to address. His approach, they argue, sought to challenge regimes and ideologies they believe undermine freedom, stability, and democratic values.
History shows that people who challenge entrenched systems rarely escape fierce opposition. Nehemiah faced relentless attacks from those who wanted Jerusalem to remain in ruins. Likewise, Trump has faced intense criticism from political opponents, media institutions, and international actors who strongly disagree with his agenda.
But opposition often accompanies any mission that seeks significant change, particularly, godly change and revival of righteousness.
Throughout history, reformers, prophets, and transformational leaders have encountered resistance precisely because they disrupt established patterns of power and influence. Whether one agrees with Trump’s policies or not, his presidency undeniably reshaped political debates in the United States and forced the nation to confront fundamental questions about its identity, direction, and values.
The Bible reminds believers that God’s purposes unfold according to His appointed time. The prophet Habakkuk recorded this divine instruction:
“Write the vision and make it plain… For the vision awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay… but the righteous shall live by his faith.” (Habakkuk 2:2–4)
For those who interpret current events through the lens of faith, this passage carries a profound message: divine purposes often unfold amid conflict, misunderstanding, and resistance.
History ultimately judges missions not by the noise of their critics but by the lasting impact they leave behind.
